Ive an Indesign document of 136 pages that has to remain 136 pages at print. Body type size is 13, Montserrat (dont ask). Problem: Getting this f**** piece downsized to an A5 format and still keep the same page number. I have a script (Multi pAge importer) that can basically turn my idd file into an A5 however I got questions.

If you want to be quick and sloppy, you could think about just using the A4 document as images on a A5-layout, and scale them proportional into the A5.

1 I design a 32 pages (excluding cover and back) A5 (A4 folded to center) booklet. While designing, I put page 1-2 in one A4 landscape format artboard, 3-4 in another, 5-6 in another, and so on. Say A4 - you could place the existing document as a link in to a new A5 sized document, which is a pain. Or you can print to a PostScript file at the correct scale then use Distiller, but that is even more flakey.

Apr 28, 2020 Make a new document that is A5 in size and make sure Facing Pages is turned on. Use File>Place to place your InDesign file into the document. The A4 document will span the 2 x A5 pages in the spread. You can also place your other InDesign file for the cover the same way. Use this file to export for the ePub. Upvote Translate Report
